Imbuing
Imbuing gives your equipment temporary bonuses. Bring the materials and the gold to an imbuing shrine, pick the imbuement and it lasts 20 hours of use.

What imbuing does
Many weapons, armours, helmets, shields, boots and some other items have imbuement slots (one to three; the item description tells you how many). Each slot can hold one imbuement: extra elemental damage, life or mana leech, critical hits, elemental protection, skill boosts, speed, capacity or paralysis deflection. An imbuement lasts 20 hours of use and then disappears.
- Imbuing is open to every account, free or Premium, and to every tier.
- Each item only accepts the imbuement types that fit it, and never the same type twice.
- Every imbuement succeeds: there is no success chance and no protection charm to buy.
Imbuing shrines
You imbue at an imbuing shrine. There is one in or right next to the temple of most big cities:
Thais, Carlin, Ab'Dendriel, Kazordoon, Venore, Edron, Darashia, Ankrahmun, Port Hope, Liberty Bay, Svargrond, Yalahar, Gray Beach, Rathleton, Roshamuul, Krailos and Issavi.
- Equip the item you want to imbue (the window lists the items you are wearing).
- Use the shrine: the Imbuing window opens.
- Click the item, choose a free slot, pick the imbuement and its tier, and press Imbue.
- The window shows the materials you have, the gold it costs and how long each active imbuement has left.

How the 20 hours run
- Combat imbuements (elemental damage, leech, critical hit, protections and skill boosts) only count down while you wear the item, are in combat and are outside a protection zone.
- Swiftness, Featherweight and Vibrancy count down whenever you wear the item, in or out of combat.
- An item in your backpack or depot never loses imbuement time.
- When the time runs out the imbuement disappears and the slot is free again.
Clearing an imbuement
- In the Imbuing window, press Clear on an occupied slot: it costs 15,000 gold and the imbuement is lost.
- An etcher removes every imbuement of an item at once: use it on the item. It is used up.
Imbuement scrolls
With a blank imbuement scroll you can prepare an imbuement in advance and apply it later, anywhere.
- Buy blank scrolls (25,000 gold) and etchers (30,000 gold) from Albinius, in the Halls of Hope north of Thais, next to an imbuing shrine.
- At a shrine, press Imbuement scroll, choose the imbuement and press Write scroll: you pay the same gold and materials as a normal imbuement and get the written scroll.
- Use the written scroll on an item: the imbuement goes into its first free slot with the full 20 hours.
- Only Intricate and Powerful imbuements can be written, and Vibrancy has no scroll.
