Bear Room Quest
At the bottom of the main cave north of the village a locked door keeps a bear and three chests. The copper key that opens it lies under the muddy floor of the minotaur hall: dig it out with a pick, pull the switch, unlock the door and take a chain armor, a brass helmet, 12 arrows and 40 gold coins.
Requirements
- A pick (from the Pick Quest: Al Dee trades one for the small axe of the old coffin)
- No rope needed: every hole has a ladder back up
- Rats, snakes, spiders, trolls, orcs and minotaurs on the way down; a bear in the room. Level 6 or so is comfortable
How to complete

Step 1
Enter the stone building north of the village and take the stairs down.

Step 2
On the first floor below, walk east to the trapdoor and drop down among the trolls.

Step 3
On the second floor go north-east to the next trapdoor. A few orcs live here.

Step 4
On the third floor the trapdoor is a short walk to the west. Two to four orcs; they are easy to outrun.

Step 5
You reach the deepest hall, home of minotaurs and orcs, with a big table in the middle. Use your pick on the muddy floor just south of the table: a hole opens.

Step 6
Climb down and open the chest: it gives you the copper key. The ladder next to it takes you back up.

Step 7
The chest right next to the switch, north of the table, holds a backpack (a present, a jug, a plate and a cup).

Pull the switch north of the table: the stone blocking the door to the north slides away. If the stone is already gone, leave the switch alone.

Use the copper key on the door and step in. Kill the bear.

Open the three chests: chain armor, brass helmet, and 12 arrows with 40 gold coins.

Tips
- The hole made by the pick closes after five minutes; the ladder below brings you up again either way.
- The key is one per character: the chest is empty the second time, so do not throw it away if you want to come back.
- Blocked on the way out? The sewer grate inside the bear room drops you into a spider room; the ladder at its far end leads back to the minotaur hall.
- The chest beside the stone switch has nothing to do with the bear: it only holds a backpack. The fourth chest in the north row of the bear room, between the first two, is ordinary loot: whoever empties it first keeps it until the next server save.

The Key Under the Mud
In the deepest hall of the main cave north of the village, where the minotaurs and orcs live, use a pick on the muddy floor just south of the big table. Climb down the hole: a chest below holds the copper key to the bear room. While you are up there, the chest next to the switch north of the table holds a backpack.
When completed: You found the copper key under the muddy floor. Now open the bear room north of the switch.

The Bear Room
Pull the switch north of the big table so the stone in front of the door moves away, unlock the door with the copper key and kill the bear inside. Three chests wait behind it.
When completed: Mission completed. The bear room gave you a chain armor, a brass helmet, 12 arrows and 40 gold coins.
